Who’d have thought it.
It was 21 years ago today that the jockey, Lester Piggott, was found guilty of tax evasion in what I suspect – to the general public at least – is still the most well-known tax evasion, nay tax, case.
Is there a lesson?
First, don’t evade taxes.
Secondly, if you do evade taxes and get found out, don’t pay your back duty settlement from a still undeclared bank account.
