Congratulations to Taxation's Pat Gunn, who's celebrating 20 years with the title's parent company (the name of which has changed more than once over the past couple of decades, but now seems to have settled on LexisNexis).
In recognition of her momentous achievement, the firm presented her with a cheque.
It was accompanied by an official letter, the first four-fifths of which explained the tax implications of her generous gift.
Why did it bother?
One is confident that given the length of Pat's tenure on Taxation, she'll have picked up more than a little bit of knowledge.
And in the unlikely event that she hasn't, our colleague has someone at home who is exceedingly capable of explaining tax matters.
Pat, as you may have already surmised, is marred to our erstwhile editor Malcolm Gunn.
