Well I was a fit and proper person
To run a football club
But then I had some trouble back home
And it seems that there’s the rub.

I’ve kinda been evicted
And now I need a new abode
So get on a plane to Manchester
It’s the city that I love.

Although that nice Mr Vidic
Who works just up the road
Doesn’t seem that enamoured
He thinks that it’s a load…

Of really unhappy people
and constantly falling rain
So perhaps I’ll move south for winter
Why not catch Mr Vidic’s train.

But how to live as I’m accustomed
Now that times are getting tough
I’m obviously gonna need
Some of that good old folding stuff.

So I’m selling my shares in Man City
To Abu Dhabi UGDI
If I’ve gotta pay some tax on that
I’ll want a good explanation why.

Still at least the money’s not in Thailand
Where my assets are subject to a freeze
But does the remittance basis apply here
Taxation readers tell me please!

So I hope there's not a liability
and that it's all tax free and OK
But perhaps I'd better check it out first
at taxation dot co dot uk.
