Accountants: you're wasting your time!
That's not a judgement of your career choice, it's the newly published conclusion of a YouGov survey.
It reckons that 83% of the UK’s 270,000 chartered accountants (that's 224,100 of you) chuck away up to one hour every day looking for misfiled and mislaid paperwork, at an average cost of £88 in lost fees.
That's a national total of nearly ten million quid doing down the drain each working week as bookkeepers rifle through filing cabinets, ransack drawers, tip over bins and crawl under desks in the hunt for some elusive document or other.
