The Taxation office, always purring with vivacity, was even more animated than usual this morning, when we discovered the Other Taxpayers' Alliance.

The organisation is an informal, left-leaning collection of bloggers who campaign online for 'fairer taxes, not lower taxes'.

It expends much effort in critiquing the actions of the right-wing pressure group TaxPayers' Alliance (sic) and its willingness to comment on news stories of any kind, no matter how far flung from the subject of tax.

Take, for instance, today's Other TPA blog entry that marvels at The Sun's story regarding 'a mum from hell who abandoned her four tiny children to go on a 24-hour drug binge'.

For reasons that remain baffling, the tabloid's reporter thought it appropriate to ask for a remark from TPA campaign director Mark Wallace.

Hilarious stuff, but what most amused and invigorated us was the uncannily authentic 'TaxPayers' Alliance quote generator'. We urge you to give it a try.
