- All those with incomes over £50 000 may get quizzed about child benefit.
- HMRC will tell taxpayers whether their income is higher or lower than their partner’s.
- Child benefit should be claimed for NI credits but then elect not to receive payments if appropriate.
- Should have abolished child benefit and improved the family element of tax credits.
Finance Act 2012 has received Royal Assent. You would be forgiven for thinking that after all the U-turns and ‘clarifications’ this year’s omnishambles of a Budget is finally over.
Unfortunately I have to warn you that the worst is yet to come.
