It was a little difficult ascertaining Sajid Javid’s musical tastes. When I saw the headline that Mr Javid had something ‘on his mind’ for some reason the old Hoagy Carmichael song about Georgia came to my mind – although I think the version by Ray Charles is probably better known. Further investigation – no I don’t know why either – uncovered the information that Mr Javid prefers U2 and Brian Ferry; I’m sure that we will learn more when he appears in due course no doubt on Desert Island Discs.
