Employee shares options are the subject of a forthcoming morning seminar to be held on 27 November at the Café Royal, London by Stanton Douglas Taxation Courses and Seminars.

The speaker will be Phillip Fisher FCCA, employee benefits partner at Chantrey Vellacott. The attendance fee is £240 plus VAT, (£200 if booking before 31 October), and further information is available from Stanton Douglas, tel: 020 8240 4444.

An afternoon conference on employee remuneration will be held by Key Haven Publications plc on 5 December at Hotel Russell, London WC1. The speakers, Andrew Thornhill QC, James Henderson and Rupert Baldry, all of Pump Court Tax Chambers, will consider the latest ideas on Schedule E tax planning and case law. This will include payments on entering and leaving employment, drafting an employment contract, benefit in kind planning, loans and soft currency loans, employee benefit trusts, discounted option schemes, conditional share schemes, tax planning for unapproved options and alternatives to share options.

TaxAid is running a morning conference, 'Tax Matters: Family and Business', on Friday 7 December at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, 10 St James's Place, London SW1.

Rebecca Benneyworth will discuss start-up strategies and other tax tips for developing the business; Alastair Kendrick will talk about employer tax issues; Mark Lee will consider limited liability partnerships; and Ralph Ray will look at will planning for the family business person.
