The Chartered Institute of Taxation has published the results of its May 2002 examination. 343 candidates passed out of a total of 670 students, with distinctions awarded to nine candidates. The pass rate was 51 per cent. The Institute Medal for the candidate with the best overall performance across all four papers was awarded to Mary-Anne Taylor of Grant Thornton at Norwich.

The Association of Taxation Technicians has also published the results of its May 2002 examinations.

There were 702 candidates, of which 482 passed, giving a pass rate of 69 per cent. The Association Medal for the candidate with the best overall performance was awarded to G H Mansoori of Andersen in London.
