Amateur sports clubs

At 25 October, 334 clubs had applied for registration with the Revenue as community amateur sports clubs, and of those 126 clubs have been registered, said John Healey. The Revenue will publish a monthly update of the registered clubs on its website.

Charitable giving

The amount given under payroll giving in 2001-02 was approximately £73 million, compared with £29 million in 1998-99. The amount repaid to charities under gift aid for 2001-02 came to nearly £450 million.

Stamp duty

As a result of the new relief from stamp duty on houses worht less than £150,000 in disadvantaged areas, some 35,000 residential properties had been granted relief, John Healey said in response to a recent written question.

National Insurance

The value of payments affected by the duplication of National Insurance payments into personal pension plans triggered by the NIRS2 computer system was £61.95 million. The number of schemes affected was 1,255. Dawn Primarolo said that most of this has been recovered from the pension schemes affected.
