The Chartered Institute of Taxation is holding the following conferences in the autumn.
The autumn residential tax update conference will take place on 9 to 11 September 2005 at the University of Nottingham, Jubilee Campus. Speakers include Tim Ambrose, John Andrews, Emma Chamberlain, Giles Goodfellow, Chris Jones, Liz Lathwood, Peter Penneycard, Les Shaw, Stephen Ward and Robin Williamson. The guest speaker at the dinner will be Barry Cryer. The attendance fee is £400 plus VAT.

The ATT and CTA autumn training conferences will take place on 16 to 18 September 2005 at the University of York. Attendance at either of these conferences costs £235 plus VAT for bookings made before 19 August, and £260 thereafter.
New beginnings is a joint conference with HMRC and the VAT Practitioners Group to be held on 30 September and 1 October at Latimer House Conference Centre, Chesham, Bucks. Edward Troup of HM Treasury will give the keynote address. The attendance fee is £375 plus VAT.
The VAT update conference will take place on 10 October 2005 at the Café Royal, London W1. Speakers include Mike Arnold, Dr Nuala Brice, Roderick Cordara QC, David Scorey, Adrian Shipwright, Geoff Tack, and Roger Thomas. The attendance fee is £310 plus VAT.
