Income Tax (Earnings Exemption for Persons Living in Poverty) (No. 2) Bill was introduced by Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP under the ten-minute rule for Private Members' Bills on 16 November 2005.
The Bill proposes abolishing income tax for people with annual earnings of £10,000 or less, with a phased introduction to the tax system for those earning between £10,000 and £15,000. Those earning over £15,000 would be taxed under the existing system.
