The PKF tax investigations team is hosting a free half-day seminar for small firms of accountants and lawyers at the firm's London office on 9 February 2006.

John Cassidy, partner specialising in tax investigations at PKF, will chair the event which will cover the latest issues, pitfalls and developments in HMRC plans and powers and consider how they could affect the services that professionals offer their clients. The half-day seminar will cover all the main types of investigations.

TaxAid is holding a morning conference, 'Tax planning at 50+' on 24 February at the Royal Institute of British Architects, London W1. The speakers will be Emma Chamberlain, Andrew Meeson, David Kilshaw and Mark Ward, and they will discuss managing assets and income, pension planning, estate planning and the tax implications of retiring abroad.
