The Taxation Summit 2006, presented by LexisNexis Tolley, takes place on 24 May in central London. This summit will look at the ramifications of the powers and actions of tax authorities on UK business. Chaired by John Cullinane, the speakers include Mike Eland, Hartley Foster, Dave Hartnett, Timothy Lyons QC, Paul Morton, Jonathan Pickworth, Jonathan Schwarz and Mike Truman.

The next meeting of the ICAEW Tax Faculty's Younger Members' Tax Club takes place on 16 May at 6 pm at the Red Herring pub, London, EC2. Richard Hopkins of Blackstone Moregate will be talking about the new pensions' regime and this will be followed by an open forum for discussion. Tax Club events are free and open to all young professionals, i.e. those aged 35 and under, who are interested in tax. The inaugural Tax Journal conference, presented by LexisNexis Tolley, takes place on 30 June in central London. This conference will look at the future of UK tax. Topics covered include corporate social responsibility, transfer pricing in the UK and US, the controlled foreign companies regime, regulation of the tax profession and interaction between tax and industry.
