I have read the latest article by Richard Curtis ('Crossroads?', Taxation, 27 July 2006, page 451) with great interest, as I have previous articles and correspondence on the issue. I heartily endorse his comments in virtually all respects, and thought I might put my own feelings and experience to you, for what they are worth.

I heartily endorse his comments in virtually all respects and thought I might put my own feelings and experience to you for what they are worth.
I was an Inspector of Taxes for some eleven years and then left to join a firm of local accountants. I subsequently set up my own business in 1994 which I have been running since. Early on it was apparent that there was a real 'us and them' divide between the Revenue and advisers and amongst other things I organised a once a year forum (similar to those mentioned in the article) which was attended by local practitioners who...
