Interventions update

19 October 2006 / Mike Truman
Issue: 4080 / Categories: Comment & Analysis
MIKE TRUMAN looks at the progress of the Taxation interventions wiki.

BACK IN AUGUST we launched a 'wiki' to deal with the intervention letters (Taxation 17 August 2006 page 552). You can find it at http://editthis.info/taxation_interventions_register (note that there is no www in the address). A wiki is a set of web pages that can be edited by anybody the best known being Wikipedia and the idea was to build up the full text of the intervention letters which are being sent out. Although samples are available on the main institute websites these do not include details of the trades being targeted and the questions asked — that is what we are intending to recreate.
Over the past two months many of you have been into the pages and amended them to show the detailed letters you have been receiving. You have also been contributing to the discussion pages on the wiki for each letter...
