We are listening to taxpayers and advisers about how HMRC can get up to speed on e-services, says HMRC's DAVE HARTNETT.

HMRC IS AND always has been right in the forefront of Government e-services. This contention may draw accusations of partisan triumphalism but I believe I can show that such criticism would be unfounded.
This year we received 1.8 million employer returns of which 1.4 million were received online. That compares to 1.2 million returns received online in 2005-06. The fact is we are some way along the road to delivering flexible and efficient online services but I will readily admit that we are not there yet. Agents still encounter problems that they should not.
