I have presented update courses to rooms full of tax practitioners who have heard of the enterprise investment scheme (EIS) but who have no experience of claiming the relief.

As I am a fan of the scheme I wish it was more accessible and attractive for those who have not tried it before. So Kevin Slevin’s new guide which comes in a ring-binder with 345 A4 pages is very welcome.

It is comprehensive and well-organised splitting down the relief into its four different elements and going through the various conditions for a claim in a logical order.

It covers the latest changes to the law in the FA 2009. And it is well supplied with examples case studies and the wealth of practical experience of the author. That is the good...
