Replying to a written question concerning HMRC’s expenditure on compliance activities, David Gauke, Exchequer secretary to the Treasury, said the department’s total bill costs for the main directorates involved in such activities were:
- 2008/09:1,128 million
- 2009/10: 1,079 million
- 2010/11: forecast 1,046 million
