Keep your client admin slick
- HMRC say that a scheme to exploit the employment allowance does not work but ensure that clients eligible to claim the relief are doing so.
- If clients decide to outsource their construction industry scheme obligations to a third party suggest that they check the terms carefully and ideally send a copy of the contract to you to check.
- Clients often bring you information about tax avoidance schemes. Do you have a clear policy on how to advise in such cases? Check that your risk management processes give protection if things go wrong with the scheme even if you were not the promoter.
