Automatic exchange of information

On 16 September 2016 HMRC is to hold a town hall event in London for small and medium businesses and agents affected by the common reporting standard Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act and Crown dependencies and overseas territories inter-governmental agreements.

Class 2 National Insurance

If the class 2 amount shows zero on the self-employed pages of a client’s self-assessment tax return HMRC explains that it will be for one of several reasons:

  • the client has not registered to pay class 2 National Insurance;
  • the client may have paid the maximum National Insurance due;
  • the client may have received particular benefits...
