Tax – there’s always something new
Where do you sit on the scale of tax nerdiness? You are reading Taxation so that’s a good start – unless you picked up this copy of the magazine in a hurry when you meant to buy this month’s Vogue in which case you have a treat in store for you!
So the real test of nerdiness is how you reacted when you saw the picture of the new strawberry and cream sandwich promoted by a well-known retail chain. If your reaction was ‘I wonder what that will taste like?’ or even ‘I think that I will buy one’ I am afraid you have failed the test and have to consider yourself a normal person. But if you thought ‘I wonder what its VAT status is’ you have passed the test and can consider yourself a true tax nerd.
