How is foreign income earned by a UK resident working in Nigeria taxed in the UK?

For the past seven tax years from 26 January 2009 until 15 October 2016 I have been living and working in the UK and paying UK tax. All my income arose from UK sources working as an engineer in the oil and gas sector and PAYE was deducted from this.

As a consequence of the downturn in the industry I was made redundant from the UK company but found work in Nigeria and moved there. Because I have spent more than 183 days in the UK for the tax year 2016-17 I understand that I will be treated as UK resident for this period.

I need to know how I will be taxed if I decide to send money to the UK. My total monthly income is about $US15 000. The rate is paid on a contract basis and I qualify as an agency...
