  • HMRC met the January deadline for responses to the Making Tax Digital consultation.
  • No change to the timetable but a penalty relaxation.
  • Spreadsheets will still have a role but will need to be MTD-compatible.
  • Some confusion over the submission date for end-of-year information.
  • Further information awaited on the turnover limit for deferral from MTD.
  • Some changes and relaxations but otherwise MTD plans are much the same.
