Employers to register online to manage their schemes.

Employers affected by the apprenticeship levy must register online to manage their schemes using a portal set up by the Department for Education and the Skills Funding Agency. The apprenticeship service is an online digital system to support the administration of the levy and its distribution.

The government is encouraging employers to register for the apprenticeship service before the levy is launched on 6 April 2017.

The levy will require employers with an annual salary bill of more than £3m to pay 0.5% of their salary bill into the apprenticeship service to encourage them to invest in apprentices.

The online service allows employers affected to estimate their yearly spend and recruit apprentices through their training providers.

To register levy-paying employers need their government gateway login details for the PAYE schemes they want to include and the details for each organisation that will be making an agreement with a training...
