As a reader of Taxation of some 40 years standing and an occasional contributor to Readers' forum I read with interest the recent article by Malcolm Gunn on the subject of perceived fraudulent intent by taxpayers when indulging in normal tax planning activities and the attitude of those persons whose job it is to enforce the regulations (Taxation, 27 July 2006, page 464).
I have read the latest article by Richard Curtis ('Crossroads?', Taxation, 27 July 2006, page 451) with great interest, as I have previous articles and correspondence on the issue. I heartily endorse his comments in virtually all respects, and thought I might put my own feelings and experience to you, for what they are worth.
